France coach Didier Deschamps says Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba isn't captaincy material.

Pogba has been raised as skipper for the world champions after Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris withdrew from the squad this week.

But Deschamps said, "Pogba captain in the absence of Lloris? You can imagine what you want, but you know the other captains there were when Hugo could not play.

"I will take the time to think.

"Paul was not captain with us at the World Cup and that did not change what he did and he did well with us at the World Cup."
