Former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly says Fabio Capello can bring success to England.

He said: "Don Fabio, here is somebody who just goes ahead with his ideas and if you look at his CV he is someone who has won.

"England will win if the players understand they are not there to be friendly with the coach - they have to suffer and if they suffer and get a positive attitude they will win something for sure with Capello.

"You win all the time with Capello if you have a positive attitude. If you take the past year with Real Madrid the players had a bit of difficulty understanding the guy but as soon as they understood him after half the season straightaway they started to get results and in the end they won the league.

"It was very hard - that is why they sacked him because it was too hard for the players. At least they can say they have won the league and it will be the same for England."
