Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly believes the club is still in with a positive chance of winning the Premier League title this season.
Desailly told talkSPORT that the west London outfit still had every opportunity to bridge the two-point gap with the in-form Reds while remaining ahead of third-placed Manchester City who are two points behind with two matches in hand.
The ex-France international also suggested that Mourinho was desperate to win the domestic title this season as it would give owner Roman Abramovich impetus to spend up in the summer.
"[The title] gone? No it's not gone," Desailly told the Weekend Sports Breakfast show.
"You still have to believe and continue. This league this year is a bit special, every single team can lose against smaller opponents. We still have to believe it."
He added: "We know that the commitment of Chelsea is to win every single thing in the season.
"Strangely, I think Mourinho would prefer to win the Premier League again, to have real power in front of the management to spend big money next year and buy new players."
