World Cup winner Marcel Desailly hopes Thierry Henry takes the Bordeaux job.

Arsenal legend Henry is taking the weekend to consider accepting the Bordeaux post after meetings during the week.

Desailly told Le Parisian: "It's a good thing. He will follow in the footsteps of Deschamps, Blanc or Vieira and bring his vision of football in a role of head coach.

"The challenge for him, and more generally for former players of his level, is to draw a complete line through the player he was and to adopt the look of the coach. He looks at all the games and analyzes everything he sees.

"Thierry always noticed something against the flow of the game, something that others do not see.

"He is also someone who has a capacity to manage a group."
