Manchester United have announced the departure of the club's Head of Recruitment, Derek Langley.
Langley has played a key role in the development of several young players, many of whom have gone on to have very successful professional careers.
He said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Manchester United, however, I feel now is the right time for me to move on. I have had 16 wonderful years working with great people, Sir Alex Ferguson, Geoff Watson, Tony Whelan and Les Kershaw to name but a few. This club is renowned for giving youth a chance and it has been so rewarding to see so many young players go on and make their first-team debut.
"Of course, I have so many incredible memories of my time at the club. It has been a real pleasure and very rewarding to work with young players and their parents and to see how those players have gone on to develop into professional footballers.
"Finally, I would like to thank to all the staff I have worked with over the years both at the Aon Training Complex and at Old Trafford, many of whom I now regard as friends. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Jose Mourinho and Manchester United all the best for the future."
