Derbyshire urges Santa Cruz to stick with Blackburn

Matt Derbyshire is hopeful that Roque Santa Cruz will stay with Blackburn Rovers.

He said: “Of course, I want Roque to stay at Blackburn. He’s a fantastic player and I love playing alongside him. He’s been great for Blackburn and he’s a great goalscorer and hopefully he will stay with us.

“I really don’t know whether he will leave us or not but, from our point of view, we really want him to stick with Blackburn.

“As well as being a fantastic striker, he’s a great bloke to have around the club.

“Roque’s always really cheerful and he’s a good laugh, but he always works hard in training which you can tell by the way he plays.”
