Derby County defender Alan Stubbs admits manager Paul Jewell was furious after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic.

The former Everton stopper said: "The manager is very angry and you can see why. He is disappointed with some of the efforts of the players and questioned their commitment.

"A few home truths have been spoken and we have to take it on the chin. Wigan are not a great team - they are struggling just as we are.

"We're in for an uncomfortable 11 weeks, never mind just one."
