Derby County midfielder Benny Feilhaber will not be returning to America to play in Major League Soccer, according to his agent.
Feilhaber does not figure in manager Paul Jewell's long-term plans at Derby and the 23-year-old looks set to leave only five months after arriving in a reported £1m deal from German club Hamburg.
The American international was in Israel last week talking over a possible move to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Maccabi want to sign Feilhaber and are believed to be offering around £275,000. They have so far failed to meet Derby's valuation of the player but the move could still be on.
"The deal with Maccabi isn't completely out of the picture yet," said Feilhaber's agent, Henner Janzen.
"Benny really isn't interested in a move back to MLS right now. He would prefer to stay in Europe."
