Exciting Derby County midfielder Giles Barnes is keen to prove himself in the Premiership.

Barnes told The Sun: "I want do the best I can and show I'm good enough to be a Premiership player.

"Being injured, I've been on the outside of things and I've not really seen the lads in training as I've spent most of my time in the gym.

"But there's a really bubbly feeling around the town and the club at the moment - and I want to be part of that as soon as possible.

"We've had a few new members of staff and players come in so everyone is looking forward to the start of the season.

"I'm a few weeks away from fitness but I'm dying to get going."
