Derby County veteran Robbie Savage is just eight games from his 500th professional appearance.

Midfielder Savage, 36, marked his 100th league club appearance with a typically energetic performance in victory over Scunthorpe, then revealed he does extra running to try to extend his 16-year career.

"I still work as hard as I can and I've only missed two days' training in three years," he said. "The older you get the harder you work and even on my days off I go for little jogs around the streets where I live. You have to at my age."
