Striker Kenwyne Jones has gone on strike at Southampton after seeing the club reject two bids from Derby boss Billy Davies.
The 22-year-old has told Saints he wants to leave St Mary's, with the club confirming the Trinidad and Tobago international has handed in a written transfer request and refused to play in Saturday's home fixture with Stoke.
Saints boss Burley told the club's official website: "Kenwyne spoke to me on Tuesday and said he did not want to play against Stoke.
"He confirmed that to me again on Friday morning and I am very disappointed by that."
