Derby signing Martin Albrechtsen has defended his decision to quit Premiership new-boys West Brom.

"I have chosen to change clubs in order to start new challenges," he told bold.dk. "I felt that the time was right to try something new.

"Leaving The Premier League for The Championship is secondary to me."
