Mile Sterjovski could be back playing in Australia as the Newcastle Jets marquee player.

The Derby County striker has struggled to get regular first team football in England and rumours are circulating of a potential return home.

Jets owner Con Constantine revealed there was something happening to the Newcastle Herald.

"I spent half of Australia Day on the phone. There is something big in the wind," he said.

"I want to make sure we get the signature before I say any more. We should know in the next 24 hours."

The player in question is believed to 29-year old Sterjovski.
