Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage admits he regrets retiring from international football.
The Welshman also says he would end his exile for a new Wales manager.
He told Sky Sports: "I did regret it. I just signed for Blackburn, (was) playing well, playing in Europe and he (John Toshack) phoned me up and said I'm not going to involve you in the next three or four squads but if he had have said it to differently, if he had said 'listen Robbie, you know you are not my type really but I want you to be involved, I want you to come down, you'll be a sub, just help the young kids', I'd have done that.
"But for him to say I'm not going to involve you at all, I just thought ah well."
On playing for Wales again if asked, he added: "Of course I would. If Wales were really struggling and everybody was dropping out left, right and centre, I'd play of course I would. Obviously I'm retired (from internationals) but if a new manager came in "
