Derby County boss Nigel Clough has designs on signing Richard Dunne if the experienced defender is prepared to drop down to the Championship. The 33 year old is available on a free transfer after being released by Aston Villa.
"We know he's been released by Aston Villa and we've heard he wants to stay in the Premier League," said Clough in the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"He's that kind of 'Jake Buxton' centre-half we like.
"If the possibility became available down the line, we would look at it. But I think he will be looking to stay in the league above for now."
