Derby No2 Hutchings: No Wigan grudge

New Derby County assistant boss Chris Hutchings says he quickly recovered from his sacking at Wigan Athletic earlier this season.

"Have I got over what happened at Wigan? Yes, I got over that within a week," said Hutchings. "What happened, happened, and I felt very hard done by in the circumstances.

"We had three key players out of the side - Denny Landzaat, Emile Heskey, Antonio Valencia - and they were an integral part of the team.

"When you lose the calibre of those three players, you are going to struggle.

"But it has gone. I never look back, I am always philosophical, always looking forward and I am looking forward to the challenge here now.

"I think when you are out of the game it doesn't stop there, you are always looking for players at all levels for whenever you might get back in the game at whatever level.

"I have a portfolio of players myself I have been talking to Paul Jewell about. Having worked very closely with him before we are very much on the same line."
