Derby hero Vucinic: Roma crisis now over

Mirko Vucinic was delighted to be on the scoresheet in AS Roma's derby victory over Lazio. The Giallorossi beat the Serie A leaders 2-0 thanks to penalties from Marco Borriello and Vucinic.

"We have been doing better for a while and the important thing is that we stay on this path. I hope it can be a victory that gives Roma a starting push, especially as it was the derby," said the Montenegrin.

"Seeing as this is our third consecutive victory and we won in Basel midweek, I can say the Roma crisis is now over."

He also netted a brace in the last edition of the derby, which Roma won 2-1.

"I'm not the 'derby man,' no, as that title still belongs to Marco Delvecchio. The most important thing is that the team won.

"We must do well to ignore last season and not look behind us. It is true we did something nobody expected last term, but we have to look forward and not backwards.

"I know every game is worth three points, but the derby is worth something more than that, especially with our bad start to the season. We are slowly climbing back up the table and proved we are a great squad."

Vucinic celebrated by taking off his jersey to show a message on his T-Shirt.

"The dedication was for my son, Aleksandar."
