Derby face huge bill for Man City crock Mills

Derby County are facing a £250,000 wage bill for crocked Manchester City fullback Danny Mills.

The Rams must carry on paying £10,000 a week for the on-loan defender even though he will not play again this season because of a knee injury.

Boss Paul Jewell said: "City have to look after their own affairs but, if it had been the other way round, I'd like to think we would have done something.

"We are bottom of the league but it seems it's every man for himself in the Premier League and that's disappointing.

"We now have to pay wages to a player who is not playing and that might stop us bringing in someone else on loan.

"His wages are quite high so we hoped that they might contribute. It's a bit disappointing the way some people do business."
