According to Derby boss Nigel Clough, Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman will not be moving to the Championship side. Derby had been linked with a £800,000 move for the 21-year-old, who has scored 13 goals for the League Two high-flyers this season.

But Rams boss Clough has denied the speculation, insisting it was news to him.

"I've never seen him play and nobody from this club has ever seen him play," he told the Derby Evening Telegraph.

"I don't think we've seen Bournemouth this season or last, so it would be difficult for us to think about spending £8,000 let alone £800,000!"
