Derby crock Porter optimistic for December return

Derby County striker Chris Porter is targeting a December return as he spies following his injury nightmare. Porter underwent a hip operation in August, but he is now off his crutches and hopes to begin jogging in the next couple of weeks ahead of a comeback before Christmas.

"Things are going well, I'm pleased with how everything has gone and I'm getting there slowly but surely," he told the club's official website.

"Although I feel like I could run now, I know I can't just yet.

"It was getting to me because I couldn't drive and I had to rely on people all the time for lifts but I can see light at the end of the tunnel now as I'm about halfway or just past it.

"I haven't got a date set for a return, but as I've said before the start of December is when I'm aiming to be in and around being able to get back to playing."
