Derby County defender Tyrone Mears will sign for Burnley today according to his agent Willie McKay.

Mears spent last season on loan with French club Marseille and looks set to make his move to the Premier League with the promoted Clarets after a visit to Turf Moor and discussion with manager Owen Coyle on Thursday.

"Tyrone looked around the place and spoke to Owen. It went well," McKay told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"He's back on Monday and will probably sign on Monday.

"He's happy with what Owen Coyle has had to tell him. He's happy with the way he wanted to play and the way Burnley are going to play."
