Derby County chairman Adam Pearson has confirmed the imminent arrival of Everton youth chief Phil Cannon.

"Phil Cannon is to come in and head up the Academy," said Pearson, the Rams chairman of football. "He brings with him fantastic contacts and a record of bringing top young players into the system at Everton from home and abroad.

"They are the skills we are buying in to.

"It is all part of a restructuring of the Academy and the football staff in general at Moor Farm.

"It is part of a new structure under Paul Jewell to help the club hit the ground running next season."
