Derby County chairman Peter Gadbsy insists manager Billy Davies is at Pride Park to stay.
"We have made a statement quite clear that we support Billy," Gadsby told Sky Sports News. "One has got to remember the tremendous job he did getting us here.
"He is 42 years of age and I believe he will get us back up again.
"So I have made a statement to say in the event, of the unheard thing of going down, we wouldn't change our manager.
"We would support and we would make sure the funds are there get us back up there again."
Gadsby admits he had his differences with Davies, but that both men have a lot of trust in each other.
"I have always said that the relationship that Billy and me have is trust," added Gadsby. "We both trust each other and you know we have our differences about things and we discuss them behind closed doors.
"Whenever that trust is gone there is a problem between the chairman and the manager and the trust is what is going on in the background and the trust that you are doing things."
