Derby boss McClaren eyeing Capital One Cup glory

Derby County boss Steve McClaren is eyeing off Capital One Cup glory.

McClaren steered Derby into the last eight for the first time in six years after a stunning 5-2 win at Fulham on Tuesday.

McClaren won the trophy in 2004 when he was in charge at Middlesbrough.

He is now just two rounds away from a return to the final and a shot at repeating that triumph.

McClaren said: "We have used this competition as more of an extra game and a game for the squad.

"And every time we have got through it has just been another game.

"We say the cups are just another game but the cups are important.

"I remember at Middlesbrough the chairman Steve Gibson always used to say the cups are important and we won it in 2004."
