Derby boss Jewell unimpressed by Reading's Dillon

Derby boss Paul Jewell is angry with Reading assistant boss Kevin Dillon.

Jewell has hit back at Dillon after the Reading coach claimed the Royals deserved to be relegated if they couldn't win at Pride Park.

"Reading is a terrific club and Steve Coppell is an excellent manager, but for Kevin to say something like that I think he must have been caught off guard," said Jewell.

"He might have been quite right to think it but to say it was quite wrong. Will I pin it up in the dressing room? Why not? I've tried everything else.

"His comments lack tact. You would think Reading had been playing Champions League all these seasons instead of down in the Championship and the Second Division.

"We've been sneered at, we've been laughed at, we've been ridiculed. I can accept it after the season we've had.

"But to be ridiculed and sneered at by certain people is not right. And for Reading to say things like that is not right.

"I know Kevin quite well. But the next time Steve Coppell rings me up for a match video to watch I shall refuse."
