Derby County boss Paul Jewell believes Roy Carroll's international recall is just rewards for his form since joining the Rams.
Carroll has caught international manager Nigel Worthington's eye during his six appearances for the Pride Park club following his January arrival from Rangers.
The former Wigan Athletic and Manchester United keeper's career had stalled since losing his first-team place at West ham United midway through last season.
"I think it is recognition for Roy getting back playing football and playing exceptionally well," Jewell told the club's official website.
"Hopefully he can continue to play well for us and get in the Irish team because I think he is a top-class goalkeeper."
