Derby County boss Paul Jewell has revealed he's already been in contact with clubs about loan signings next month.
"It would be an ideal scenario to get one or two loans in and I have spoken to a few clubs and a few players," said Jewell. "You cannot decide on January 1, we have to plan if we can.
"I am busy trying to improve the squad and I think loans can be helpful. A player can have a look at us and we can take a look at them.
"If the player does well, you are half way to doing a deal. If things don't work out with the player for whatever reason there is no big financial loss to the club.
"It can work for both parties.
"If I can improve the squad and it is the right thing for the club, I will try to do it."
