Derby County boss Billy Davies is keeping his transfer targets close to his chest.

He said: "We are very, very keen to add to our squad but I am not in the business of naming names until something has been finalised.

"I am not really in a position to say very much really, because I simply identify our targets and then it is up to the chief executive, Trevor Birch, to proceed with the negotiations and see if a deal can be done.

"What I can tell you though, is we are in discussions with a number of parties and are hopeful we can do something sooner rather than later - certainly before the transfer window closes.

"And it is obviously in the striking department we need to strengthen and increase or selection options because we have been learning the hard way you must take your goalscoring chances in the Premier League."
