Derby boss Davies fires transfer spending rap

Derby County boss Billy Davies has fired a transfer cash warning at his board.

Davies touched a raw nerve after Derby's latest away-day blank with a warning shot for his board: "The league table doesn't lie - but our spending doesn't lie either."

Rams boss Davies is still waiting for his side's first goal away from home this season. And as chairman Peter Gadsby went on BBC Radio to assure Davies he will be given more pocket money in the January transfer window, the Derby boss said: "We're not fools, we know what we've spent and we know the situation.

"But we're still in the mix, with the Fulhams and the Birminghams. One win could take us above six or seven teams."
