Derby County boss Nigel Clough is prepared to battle Bolton Wanderers for Everton striker James Vaughan.
Wanderers have been linked with a £3million move for the England Under-21 star, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Clough is also keen and says: "I was not aware of Bolton's interest but I think James is keen to come back here and we have a deal in principle with Everton, so hopefully everybody will stick to that.
"A cash move could possibly change things.
"It all depends on how Everton view his future as well. They might think it is beneficial that he comes out and plays for us for three or four months.
"If he does well with us, there is even the possibility it will increase his value."
