Derby County are set to welcome back Everton striker James Vaughan.

The Mail on Sunday says Vaughan will rejoin Nigel Clough's Derby in January in an attempt to get his injury-dogged career back on track.

Vaughan, 21, with a history of knee trouble, returned from a loan spell at Pride Park this month after a small tear was discovered in his cartilage.

But Clough was so impressed with Vaughan he has agreed to take him back on loan in the New Year for the rest of the season.
