Derby County boss Billy Davies knows transfer rumours will increase as Giles Barnes continues his first team return.
West Ham United made a bid shortly before the transfer window closed at the end of last month, and they and others will watch the player's progress ahead of the window reopening in January.
"We've just had a bid of £27.3m for Barnesy just because he played for 15 minutes on Saturday!" joked Davies.
"Seriously, it is a huge boost to see him back because he gives us a different outlet," added Davies.
"He is very much suited to this level of football because counter-attacking is crucial, especially for teams like Derby.
"I still think he is a bit away from starting, but he will be in the 16 and ready to contribute.
"Every bit of action he gets will be a benefit to him."
