Derby County are chasing Sheffield United striker Jon Stead.

BBC Radio Sheffield says the Blades, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are understood to be considering an offer from the Rams for the 24-year-old.

Stead had a spell on loan at Derby last season when he was a Sunderland player but switched to Bramall Lane on a permanent transfer in January.

The striker has scored seven goals in 16 appearances for the Yorkshire club.
