Derby battling to keep hold of Wolves, Fulham target Jeff Hendrick

Wolves are eyeing Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick.

The 19-year-old has made only nine starts for Derby, but is also being scouted regularly by West Bromwich Albion and Fulham.

And Clough has revealed that he has opened negotiations with Hendrick as he attempts to keep his rising star at Pride Park.

"We are talking to Jeff and he's said he wants to stay, so if that's the case we will look after him," said Clough.

"We have a policy at the club of rewarding young players once we have identified that these are the sort of lads we want around.

"He's got a year left on his contract after this season but we want to get it done and dusted.

"It might be more of a problem than it was for me signing my new contract though - his agent is talking as if he's played 90 games instead of nine."
