Relegated Derby County have won their way through to the Carling Cup semi-finals with a 1-0 stoppage time victory over Premiership new boys Stoke City.
A 94th-minute penalty from Nathan Ellington ensured the Rams would see final four action after a dogged and determined second half performance.
The match was slight on genuine scoring chances with both sides only having two shots on target apiece and the spot kick was probably a fitting ending for an entertaining but low quality encounter.
The Potters now look to Newcastle United away this weekend whilst Derby will bask in the glory of progressing through to a semi-final.
