Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone is attracting interest from Sunderland.
The Sunderland Echo says the 23-year-old Romania international has scored five goals in 15 appearances this season having joined from Cordoba in the summer.
Adding another striker to the squad will be a priority for David Moyes when the January transfer window opens, with the club heavily reliant on Jermain Defoe and Victor Anichebe.
But with Sunderland £140million in debt, January business is expected to be limited with the club also close to the salary cap for wages.
