Deportivo La Coruna coach Miguel Angel Lotina is not interested in Mexican forwards Giovani dos Santos and Carlos Vela. Tottenham's Giovani and Arsenal's Vela are on World Cup duty in South Africa with Mexico.

Giovani came through the youth ranks at Barcelona and has been linked with Deportivo before, while Vela had a spell with another Galician side, Celta Vigo, before brief stays at Salamanca and Osasuna.

The pair were considered as possible summer signings for Deportivo, Lotina revealed, as was another Mexican, Atlas forward Edgar Pacheco.

"The names were put on the table (as possible signings)," the coach told Deportivo's official newspaper.

"But they won't be coming."
