Departing Valencia striker Morientes to ink Marseille contract

Fernando Morientes could sign with Didier Deschamps' Olympique Marseille today.

French sources say the off contract Valencia centre-forward will be in Marseille today to put pen to paper on a 12-month l'OM deal, with the option of another year.

Morientes actually was named European Footballer of the Year playing in France with AS Monaco.
