Departing Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has penned an open letter to fans.
Prandelli has ended his contract with Fiorentina to take the Italy job.
He has enjoyed a warm relationship with the Viola's supporters since his arrival at the Artemio Franchi in 2005.
The 52-year-old wrote: 'To those who believed like me and are moved by a solitary purple flag in a window; to those who thought that, even if I got some changes wrong, I was a good person anyway
"To everyone, to Florence with its elegance and melancholy, its diffidence and generosity, I only have two things to say: thank you and I will always carry you in my heart."
