Departing Monaco chief Luis Campos set for Man Utd talks

Manchester United are being linked with AS Monaco chief Luis Campos.

Campos has announced he is leaving Monaco this summer after three years with the Ligue 1 giants. The Portuguese has close ties to United boss Jose Mourinho and agent Jorge Mendes.

Foot Mercato says Campos, who brought Anthony Martial to ASM before selling him onto United, is interesting the English giants as Mourinho insists on a director of football being appointed.

"After three full seasons and intense emotions, and after a long period of reflection and discussions with Vadim Vasilyev, I wish to announce my departure," said Campos yesterday.

"I need a few days off but also a new challenges. I would like to especially thank the President and Prince for all the support they have given me, especially Vadim, with whom I spent the most time working in the development of the club."
