Outgoing Newcastle United hero Jonas Gutierrez has hit out at owner Mike Ashley.

Gutierrez's story this season has been nothing short of a fairytale following his battle with testicular cancer.

The Argentine winger returned to action against all odds and even scored a wonderful goal during the final day of the Premier League season against West Ham United to help the Magpies retain their top flight status.

Despite his heroics and popularity among the fans though, Gutierrez was unceremoniously dumped by Newcastle at the end of the season and now the midfielder has moved on to hit out at owner Ashley for the way he has been treated.

Gutierrez posted the following on Twitter on Friday:
