Departed Sunderland coach Dick Advocaat is already eyeing his next move.

Advocaat and Sunderland parted ways yesterday by mutual consent.

He told NIS: "With a national team going on the road to the European Championships that would be cool. I would love to experience the European Championships."

On his decision to leave Sunderland, the Dutchman added: "It's definitely not my habit to stop just like that.

"But after eight games with three points, I had the feeling that I'm not the right man to turn this around. I have not experienced this before, but I saw no other solution."
