Cardiff City have signed defender Darren Dennehy from Everton.

Dennehy had been at Everton since 2005 but opted for a move to Cardiff above a new contract tabled by the Merseyside outfit.

Cardiff have also swooped for Motherwell striker Ross McCormack and chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "This is further evidence that we are putting together a squad that can compete to gain promotion to the Premier League."
