Barcelona striker Denis Suarez has spoken of his time with Manchester City.
The youngster has just moved to Sevilla on a two-year loan as part of Ivan Rakitic's transfer to the Nou Camp.
On City, Suarez told El Pais: "I thought it'd work out better in England than it did. I had an idea and then the reality is different
"At 17 I was very good, but I lacked a physical presence. I could not compete in such a physical league like the English."
Suarez left City last summer for Barca and added: "When Barca came after me, I was set for a City (contract) renewal. I waited to talk to (manager Manuel) Pellegrini and he said he wanted me to stay.
"But it was an offer from Barça and it was me who took the step to leave."
