Jason Denayer is set to leave Manchester City if they complete a deal for Nicolas Otamendi.

The agent of the promising Belgian centre-half has revealed that his client will up and leave the Etihad Stadium if the Sky Blues bring in Argentina international Otamendi from Valencia.

20-year-old Denayer, who spent last season on loan at Celtic, signed a five-year deal with City in July under the impression that he would be one of four centre-backs this season but the imminent arrival of Otamendi has his future in Manchester clouded.

His agent Jesse de Preter said: "He was not in the squad against Chelsea, that was no surprise to us. But if City get a defender, that's it. If he is to sit on the bench or in the stands, he leaves."

Reports suggest Otamendi will undergo a medical with City this week before completing a £31.5million transfer to the 2014 English champions.
