Clint Dempsey has explained the reasons for his shift across London from Fulham to Tottenham.
The USA international's career at Craven Cottage was in limbo for the entire summer as he looked to move on at every possible chance.
Eventually, he made a deadline day transfer to Spurs for £6million and says it was because the Cottagers did not appreciate him.
"If you always felt valued and appreciated enough, I don't think you'd ever leave, but it came to a point for me where I didn't feel valued and appreciated, not by the fans, but by other situations. That's just the way things went," Dempsey said.
The Texan midfielder heads back to Southwest London this weekend when Spurs tackle Fulham with the North Londoners looking to close the gap with third-placed Chelsea and fourth-placed West Bromwich Albion.
