Manchester City veteran Martin Demichelis admits this season has been a disappointment for the defending champions.

City's hopes of retaining the title ended at Old Trafford, but the response to the loss has seen them win three games in a row and Demichelis says the determination is to end with six victories on the bounce.

"I think that the team has shown a good spirit in the last three games after a difficult moment when we lost the derby and we were almost out of the title race," said the popular Argentine to the club's website.

"The team had a good reaction and we changed our form, showing that is team is still capable of fighting for important things."
