Delph will always battle for Man City start

Fabian Delph has promised Manchester City he will never give anything less than 100 per cent for the club.

The 27-year-old England midfielder has been hampered by fitness issues in his two seasons at City but this term he has also had to bide his time since recovering from a groin injury suffered last September.

He said: "I'm a really positive person and all through my life and career I have been a hard worker and a believer that hard work will get repaid.

"There isn't a day I have not worked hard and in the last couple of games the manager has repaid me. I had the opportunity to play two games and have done okay in both.

"It's frustrating not to be playing but you have to keep going. It's an unbelievable squad, where everyone is very talented.

"I knew when I came here I wouldn't play 60 games a season, but it was an opportunity to better myself and possibly win trophies.

"If I can help the team, I am more than happy, if selected. You get nothing but 100 per cent if I am selected to play and if I don't play you will find me in the dressing room, screaming and geeing the boys up.

"I don't look too far ahead, and as long as we get three points every week I am happy."
