Delph's Man City contract holding up Stoke move

Fabian Delph's contractual situation at Manchester City holding up the midfielder's prospective move to Stoke City, according to the Sentinel.

City are interested in signing Delph this summer and manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that the Potters are currently in talks with Manchester City over a potential move.

Hughes said: "We've asked for an idea in terms of the possibility of doing something. That's been ongoing for a couple of weeks now and we just have to be patient. With loan deals it's always the parent club that dictates who and when players go out.

"He's one of a number of players we're looking at. We speak to a lot of clubs and ask them about players' situations and their feelings and plans for them moving forward into the new season. He is one of those players we've asked about."

However, Delph's move to Stoke is anything but a done deal as of yet and the prospective transfer could be left in a limbo as the England international still has to sort out contractual issues at Manchester City before they will release him.
