Delph at odds with Man City over exit plans

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph favours a loan move away this month.

The Daily Mail says Delph is in the middle of a stand-off with Manchester City that could affect his chances of playing for England at next summer's World Cup.

Pep Guardiola has given the green light for City to sell the 27-year-old midfielder with the club willing to accept offers of £14million as they try to reduce the size of their squad.

However, Delph is insisting he wants to go on loan rather than commit himself to a permanent transfer, which is what City would prefer.

But unless the impasse is broken he faces a season frozen out of the first-team picture.
